We will start our walking tour from Tai Po Market MTR station, promptly at 2pm.

Wouter will walk us around and talk about the Colonial history of Tai Po, the construction of Tai Po New Town and Tai Po Old Market and the Tin Hau Temple.  We will also visit the Tai Wo Market and the Man Mo Temple.  Next, Wouter will talk about modern day Tai Po: Tai Po Hui Market and Tai Ming Lane Square.

The tour will finish at about 17:30 at the King's Belly (British style pub) for a nice cold beer and some fish & chips (optional at your own expense - or back to Tai Po Market MTR to return home).

Tai Po, a not so new town. Now home to some 250,000 people, it used to be a small market town and major economic and political centre of the New Territories. Besides learning about the history of Tai Po, guests will also get to see modern day life in this lively town, and how some things simply haven't changed a bit.

An easy stroll of about 3 - 3.5 hours on flat ground.

Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring plenty of sun lotion, a hat and water.  However, drinks and snacks could be bought at many locations along the way (at your expense).
