Join us for another entertaining and enriching evening watching Verdi's La Traviata opera, rebroadcast live in HD from the NY Metropolitan Opera House on Saturday, 7 September.

La Traviata opera premiered in Venice at La Fenice opera house on March 6, 1853. Based upon the 1852 play by Alexandre Dumas, "The Fallen Woman" is an opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi set to an Italian libretto.   A party is taking place at the house of Violetta Valery, a beautiful Parisian demimondaine. ... As the others go into another room to dance, Violetta suffers a fainting spell. Alfredo stays behind and confesses that he has been in love with her for a year.
