Pianist and composer Thierry Maillard graduated from the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, where he was classically trained in piano, accordion, harmony and counterpoint.  Once he’d finished his studies, he quickly discovered jazz and its freedom of expression.  This unveiled a new musical genre influenced by his experiences and encounters, combining classical, jazz and world music.

A determined composer and orchestrator, he has recorded 12 albums as a leader.  His first album, Paris-New York (1998), was recorded in New York, with Dennis Chambers on drums and John Patitucci on bass, under the Verve Emarcy label.  A passionate musician, Thierry has worked with many great names of jazz, including Bireli Lagrène, Chris Minh Doky, Bobby Shew, Michel Portal, Bernard Lubat, Didier Lockwood, Dominique Di Piazza and Matthew Garrison.

The concert will be held in the Fringe Dairy, the only jazz and cabaret space in Hong Kong. Designed for shows that require an intimate and simple staging. It seats about 80 people or up to 150 standing room.  The interior retains some of the original features -- the 1913 tiled floor, tall windows with wooden shutters, overhead fans -- at the time when it served as the old Dairy Farm front shop, selling milk and ice cream over the counter.

Entrance ticket includes one-standard drink.

The concert will start promptly at 8:00pm and will last for approximately 1.5 hours.
