Whether you're a whisky connoisseur or even just a whisky lover, the city of Hong Kong has a plethora of options for you to discover. In fact, you could spend an entire night just hopping whisky bars and, each time, experience something new! When it comes to the whisky bars in Hong Kong, it isn’t just about the varied types of whisky, but also about the ambience that make the experience more mesmerizing.


Although it’s difficult to come up with a definitive list of the best whisky bars in town, here are a few we’ve narrowed down for you after much exploring:


Angel’s Share

A mysterious yet cozy place, Angel's Share has world-class service with world-class whisky. The waiters and managers are extremely hospitable and have a great knowledge of the spirits and can make excellent recommendations to you based on your likes.


It’s a nice, quiet place with an outstanding selection of whisky, mostly from Scotland. The specialty of the bar is a barrel of something known as Kavalan Solist Sherry Single Cask Whisky, straight from Taiwan. Whiskies are drawn directly and the barrel is rotated to show the whiskies from various regions.

b.a.r. Executive is an ideal location for dates, because of the intimate environment and the great view it offers.


The place boasts of a vast variety of whiskies from the fine lands of Scotland, Ireland, the United States, Japan and more. Each drink is prepared with much attention to detail and is served along with hand-chiselled ice in large spherical bowls.


However, it’s important to note that this Japanese-run establishment is a members-only club. You can also visit this bar if you book in advance and pay the required fee.

Mizunara: The Library

There are very few countries that do whisky better than Japan and, if you're in the mood to be teleported to a Japanese whisky bar with soft jazz music playing in the background, look no further than Mizunara: The Library.


This Wan Chai bar offers some of the most exquisite Japanese whiskies and award-winning cocktails, all in a fantastic environment.

If you're new to whisky and don't know where to start, then Ginger is the place to be!


Located on On Wo Lane, the cozy bar has just the right shade of yellow lighting to amp up your experience, making it the perfect spot for your first great drink! 


The variety just can't be understated, as Ginger comes with a whopping 400 different blends from across the globe!
